2017 Gardens

February teased us with some warm days, but then March came in accompanied by a polar vortex! By April, 2017 settled in to give us another wonderful gardening season. One highlight of the year was the informal gardening advice session with Thomas Hawkins (pictured at left), the Co-Garden Manager of the War Memorial Garden, in which Thomas shared his tips for design and maintenance of a beautiful tropical garden! 

In addition, a beautiful bench was installed at Alex's Garden at the Post Office (see photo at right) with a plaque inscribed with a dedication of the garden to Alex Santa Barbara, the beloved postal clerk at the Swarthmore Post Office, who died in 2009.
