2013 Gardens

Spring!
Springtime weather came late in 2013, but when it finally arrived, the unseasonably cool temperatures helped the blossoms linger.  In honor of  the new logo,  allium schubertii (see below at right) were featured in many of the SHS gardens.

 ☼ Summer

Pictureoutside Co-op- late August
Summer began with the rainiest June on record and ended with a very dry September, but in spite of the challenges, Swarthmore's town gardens helped everyone savor the season.

❀ A special thanks for Margie McAboy for many of the photos in this section.

 ❧ ❧ ❧ Fall / Changeover🍂

PictureWar Memorial pre-changeover
The SHS town gardens were still going strong in mid-October. Summer's flowers spilled over the edging of the War Memorial (at left).  But the calendar couldn't be denied, and so, the SHS flower beds were redone for their new winter look.
