2012 Gardens

☀  Spring/ Summer

Picture

Spring 2012 started early and was a gardener's delight. But the hot, humid, and almost rainless summer certainly tested the mettle of Swarthmore's gardeners. Teams of intrepid volunteers kept  Swarthmore's public gardens abloom with frequent watering and tender, loving care. A ribbon of gold flowers--from palest yellow to vivid orange--wove through the SHS flower beds all season, providing a  sunny greeting to all.

❁ Sidewalk Containers

Picture

Our town center's sidewalk containers were a gift to the borough from Fine Garden Creations, a local business. The plants are purchased and planted each season by Fine Garden Creations. The borough waters the pots during the summer, and SHS waters the pots in the fall.
